Parent University is a program designed to foster family engagement and create active parent leaders. Two-hour sessions are held quarterly in each of the district’s five learning communities, covering topics that include: Effective Communication, Understanding the School System, ESSA Guidelines, State Testing, and Preparing “Future Ready” Students.
A kickoff event for Parent University will be held the first Saturday in August at the First Tennessee Pavilion. This is a district-wide community celebration that features a multitude of exhibitors offering information about community services, hands-on exhibits, and free school supplies, snacks and beverages.
